Each slide shows how much of it is cropped. 3. **Download them all.** Every slide is cut from the middle to the same size and saved as a numbered JPG, together in a ZIP. ## Instagram carousel sizes A carousel holds up to 20 photos and videos. The orientation you pick, square, portrait or landscape, applies to all of them; you can't give one slide a different shape. The shapes are the ones Instagram uses for any post, from 1.91:1 to 3:4, shared at up to 1080 pixels wide: - Portrait 4:5, 1080 × 1350. - Portrait 3:4, 1080 × 1440: the tallest. - Square 1:1, 1080 × 1080. - Landscape 1.91:1, 1080 × 566: the widest. ## Picking the shape The first slide is the one people see in their feed and on your profile, with dots below it for the rest. Start from its shape, then look at what the others lose. A slide narrower than 1080 pixels once it's cropped is enlarged to fill the width and looks soft.
