Drop in PNG screenshots or photos and get JPGs that are easier to send and upload. You see each file's size before and after, and nothing leaves your browser.

Runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded.

## How to use it

1. **Add PNG images.** Drop one or several. They're converted as soon as they're in.
2. **Pick the quality.** Watch the sizes in the list: Smaller file shrinks them further, Best keeps text crispest.
3. **Download.** Save a single JPG, or all of them in one ZIP.

## How much smaller it gets

PNG keeps every pixel exactly, which makes photos and full-screen screenshots large. JPG drops detail the eye barely notices, so a photo usually shrinks to a fraction of its PNG size. The list shows each file's size before and after, so you can see what you saved.

Screenshots with large flat areas and text shrink less, and at low quality JPG leaves soft halos around letters. Keep High or Best for those.

## When to keep the PNG

JPG has no transparency: transparent areas are filled with white. Keep PNG for logos, stickers and anything you'll lay over another picture.

Keep PNG too for an image you'll edit and save many times. Each JPG save compresses again, while PNG never loses anything.

## On a Mac with sips

macOS comes with sips, which converts from Terminal. formatOptions sets the JPG quality in percent.

- sips -s format jpeg -s formatOptions 90 image.png --out image.jpg

## Questions

### Are my images uploaded?

No. Each PNG is decoded and written as JPG in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere.

### Why did the transparent background turn white?

JPG can't store transparency, so transparent areas are filled with white. Keep the PNG if you need them transparent.

### Which quality should I pick?

High (90%) for photos. Best (95%) for screenshots with small text. Smaller file (75%) when you need the smallest size and can accept softer detail.

### Does converting reduce the resolution?

No. The JPG has the same width and height in pixels as the PNG; only the compression changes.

### Can I convert many PNG files at once?

Yes. Drop them together, and the download button saves every JPG in one ZIP.
