Cutfac

Everything Cutfac does

Cutfac turns your coding agent into a short-form video team. You keep the taste and the final say; the agent does the cutting, captioning and rendering.

Edit by pointing

There's no timeline to learn. You mark the moment and say what to change.

Select a range

Drag across the timeline, or press I and O at the playhead to set the start and end. Press L to loop it while you decide.

Box an area

Drag a box over the part of the frame you mean: a caption, a logo, a face. The box is drawn onto the frame the agent sees.

Ask in your own words

Type the change and press Enter. Follow-up requests stay in the same conversation, so “a bit more” works.

Compare and keep

When the agent finishes, play the old and new versions side by side. Keep the edit, or restore the previous version with one click.

Your agent does the work

Cutfac runs Claude Code or Codex on your Mac with your own account.

One session per video

Each video gets its own agent session, so the agent remembers earlier requests for that video and nothing leaks between videos.

Exact context

Every request includes a clip of the selected range, the frame with your box drawn on it, the start and end timecodes and the path to the original file.

Live progress

Each step the agent takes shows up as it happens, so you can see what it's doing instead of staring at a spinner.

Copy prompt

No agent set up, or want to use another assistant? Copy the full request with its timecodes and file paths and paste it anywhere.

References

Start from short-form videos that already work.

Drop a file or paste a link

Add a video file, or paste a link and Cutfac downloads it with yt-dlp.

Broken down for you

Each reference is split into scenes, with the hook frames pulled out, a contact sheet of the whole video and the audio extracted.

Why it works

Your agent watches the breakdown and writes down the hook, the beats and what makes it land, in a note you can edit.

Formats

Turn what works into a recipe your agent can repeat.

Recipes, not templates

A format holds hook rules, beats, target length and the checks a video must pass. It can also point to a render template.

Built from references

Ask your agent to write a format from the references you saved, then adjust it by hand.

Board

Every video in one place, from idea to published.

One folder per post

Each video is a folder with its script, renders, feedback and status, moving from idea to published.

Timecoded feedback

Leave notes at exact moments in a video. Your agent reads them on the next pass.

Upload checks

Every render is checked with ffprobe against upload rules and its format: length, resolution, aspect ratio, codec, frame rate and audio sync.

Schedule and numbers

Plan posts on a calendar and record views and other numbers after they go out, so the next round learns from them.

Your app

Videos that know what you're selling.

Import from a link

Paste your App Store, Google Play or landing page URL. Cutfac pulls in the name, description and store screenshots.

Positioning and CTA rules

Write down who the app is for and how a video should end. Your agent follows it in every video.

Reviewed captures

Keep the screen recordings and screenshots you approved, so the agent uses real footage of your app.

Plain files on your Mac

Your work is yours, in a format you can read without us.

Folders and YAML

A workspace is a plain folder. Open it in Finder, put it in git, back it up however you like.

Nothing uploaded

Videos are processed on your Mac with ffmpeg. Cutfac doesn't send your videos or workspace to us.

Keeps working

If you stop paying, the app keeps working at the version you have, and your files stay where they are.

Coming later

Planned

These are planned for paid plans and are not available yet.

Reference feed

A regularly updated list of short-form videos that work, with links, metadata and analysis.

Format packs

Ready-made formats for common kinds of app videos.

Managed publishing

Post and schedule to TikTok, Instagram and YouTube from the board.
