Drop a video
Any video your browser can play. It stays on your computer.
Your contact sheet will appear here.
How to use it
- 1
Add a video
Drop any video your browser can play. It's read in the browser and isn't uploaded.
- 2
Choose the frames
Pick how many frames, and whether they cover the whole video or only the first three seconds.
- 3
Download the sheet
Save the grid as a PNG with a timestamp on every frame.
Why use a contact sheet
A contact sheet shows a whole video at once, so you can read its structure without scrubbing: where the cuts are, how long the intro runs and when the product first appears.
The first-three-seconds mode samples only the opening, which is what viewers see before deciding whether to keep watching. Use it to compare how videos that work begin.
How Cutfac uses them
The app makes a contact sheet for every reference video you save, along with the scene cuts, hook frames and audio, so your coding agent can study a video and write down why it works.
Questions
The video is split into equal slices and the frame in the middle of each is used, so the first frame is never a black fade-in.
Any video your browser can play. If a file won't open, convert it to MP4 with H.264 video and try again.
No. The video is read in your browser and the sheet is drawn there too.
