Frame: 1080 × 1920 px · Clear area: 865 × 960 px
A transparent 1080 × 1920 image to lay over your timeline in any editor.
These are estimates. The apps change their layout, so preview the post in the app before publishing.
How to use it
- 1
Add a frame
Drop a screenshot or a video. For a video, drag the frame slider to the moment you want to check.
- 2
Pick platforms
Choose TikTok, Reels, Shorts or all three. With more than one, the clear area uses the strictest edge of each.
- 3
Check the clear area
Captions, faces, your logo and calls to action should sit inside the dashed box.
- 4
Download the overlay
Save a transparent 1080 × 1920 PNG and lay it over your timeline in any editor.
What a safe zone is
Short-form apps draw their interface on top of your video: the username and caption at the bottom, like and share buttons on the right, and tabs or a search bar at the top. Anything underneath is hard to read and can't be tapped.
The safe zone is the part of the frame that stays clear. Text, faces, product shots and calls to action belong inside it.
Safe zone sizes on a 1080 × 1920 frame
No platform publishes exact numbers for regular posts, and the interface shifts with the device, the caption length and app updates. TikTok's figures are measured from the app, the Reels figures follow Meta's guidance for ads, and the Shorts figures are the common consensus. Leave some margin and preview the post in the app before you publish.
- TikTok: 131 px from the top, 480 px from the bottom, 60 px from the left and 150 px from the right.
- Instagram Reels: 269 px from the top, 672 px from the bottom, 65 px from the left and 65 px from the right.
- YouTube Shorts: 288 px from the top, 576 px from the bottom, 65 px from the left and 130 px from the right.
- All three: 288 px from the top, 672 px from the bottom, 65 px from the left and 150 px from the right.
One video for every platform
If you post the same video everywhere, design for the combined zone. Reels covers the most at the bottom and Shorts the most at the top.
Put on-screen text in the middle of the frame. The bottom third is where every app puts its caption, and the right edge is where the buttons are.

Questions
On a 1080 × 1920 video, keep important content about 131 px from the top, 480 px from the bottom, 60 px from the left and 150 px from the right. The right side is wider because of the like, comment and share buttons.
No. Reels covers more of the bottom for its caption and audio row, and Shorts covers more of the top. If you post the same video everywhere, use the combined zone.
Vertical 9:16, ideally 1080 × 1920. The checker opens other sizes too, but warns you, because the apps show them with bars or cropped.
